Law & Humanities Bachelor Options
A practical map for a Nepal +2 Humanities/Law graduate: Tribhuvan University (TU) campuses in the FoHSS directory, confirmed bachelor options, and selected direct-entry international degrees. Research checked 10 September 2026.
Read this first. The TU FoHSS page supplied by the family labels its campus-subject column “Subjects in Master Level.” It is useful for finding campuses, but it does not prove that a bachelor major is currently open. This guide therefore separates (1) verified bachelor information published by the campus/TU and (2) the directory’s master-subject signal. Always confirm the current intake, fee, seats, subject combination, and eligibility directly with the campus before applying.
Eligibility: a +2 Humanities/Law student is eligible to apply for TU BA and, subject to the programme’s entrance process, B.A.LL.B. The direct law route after +2 is B.A.LL.B. (five years). LL.B. (three years) is a later degree for someone who already holds a bachelor’s degree.

How to choose
- Wants to become a lawyer: rank B.A.LL.B. campuses first. The degree combines law with arts/social-science foundations.
- Wants social work / NGO / development: choose BSW/BASW rather than a general BA when she wants structured fieldwork.
- Wants civil service, teaching, writing, policy or flexibility: BA, then select the two majors the campus actually opens.
The official four-year TU BA description names compulsory English, Nepali and Nepal Studies. It describes majors/areas including Anthropology, Geography, History, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Nepal Bhasa, Culture, Rural Development, Social Work, Film Studies, Hindi, Nepali Linguistics and Population Studies. Major availability is campus-specific. Its rule also flags extra prior-study conditions for English, Economics and Journalism/Mass Communication, so confirm these before choosing them.

3. International routes after +2
“Law” means different things abroad. The United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and India commonly permit direct undergraduate law entry after high school. The United States and Canada normally require university study first, then a JD. A humanities/law +2 background is often appropriate; grades, English proficiency, admissions tests and country-specific equivalency are the decisive issues.

Important licensing warning: studying an LLB abroad does not automatically make someone eligible to practise law in Nepal, and a Nepali B.A.LL.B. does not automatically qualify someone abroad. Before committing money, check the intended jurisdiction’s legal-profession regulator, degree recognition and required bar/clinical training.
International application checklist
- Pick the career destination first: Nepal legal practice, international policy/development, or legal practice abroad.
- Collect Grade 11/12 transcripts, character certificate, passport, recommendations, and certified translations if needed.
- Check the university’s Nepal qualification-equivalency table; do not assume every +2 grade maps automatically.
- Prepare English evidence (often IELTS/TOEFL) if required, plus LNAT for many UK law applications.
- Budget for tuition, living costs, visa, health cover and scholarship deadlines separately.
- Apply only through the university’s official application route or UCAS, never solely through an agent.
